Soccer Edge ("Edge," "we," "us," or "our") operates the edge.soccer website and the Soccer Edge mobile application (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our Service.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and organization affiliation. Coaches and administrators may also provide a phone number.

Player & Family Information: Administrators and parents enter player information during registration, which may include:

Player name, date of birth, gender, and age group
Guardian/parent names, email addresses, and phone numbers
Emergency contact information
Medical conditions, allergies, and medications (provided voluntarily for player safety)
Shirt size, preferred position, and soccer experience

Payment Information: If your club enables online payments via Stripe, payment card details are processed directly by Stripe and are never stored on our servers.

Game & Practice Data: Coaches may record game statistics (substitutions, goals, playing time), practice attendance, and player performance ratings.

Device Information: We collect standard device information including device type, operating system version, and app version for troubleshooting and analytics.

Location: The app may request location access to identify which field you are at. Location is not stored or tracked over time.

Camera & Microphone: Used only for live game streaming when initiated by the user. Stream data is processed by Mux for video delivery.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and operate the Service (team management, scheduling, communication, registration)
To process registrations and payments through your club
To enable coaches to track game and practice data
To send notifications about games, practices, and club announcements
To provide AI-powered coaching assistance (session planning, drill suggestions)
To improve the Service and fix bugs

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to third parties.

Information is shared only in these limited circumstances:

Within your organization: Coaches and administrators in your club can see player and family information relevant to their role.
Service providers: We use trusted third-party services to operate the platform:
- Auth0 — authentication and login
- Stripe — payment processing (if enabled by your club)
- Mux — live video streaming and playback
- Anthropic Claude / Azure OpenAI — AI coaching features (drill generation, session planning, post-game reports — no personal player data is sent to AI models)
- SendGrid — email delivery
- Microsoft Azure — cloud hosting and database
Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or governmental authority.

4. Data Security

We take data security seriously, especially given that our platform handles information about minors.

All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption
Data is stored in Microsoft Azure with enterprise-grade security
Access is controlled through JWT authentication and organization-level boundaries — users can only access data within their own club
Payment card data is handled exclusively by Stripe (PCI-DSS compliant) and never touches our servers
Biometric data (Face ID / fingerprint) is processed entirely on your device and never transmitted to our servers

5. Children's Privacy

Our Service stores information about youth soccer players, including minors under 13. This information is provided by parents/guardians or club administrators — not by children directly. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13. Player accounts are managed by their parent/guardian or club administrator.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your club's account is active. If a club discontinues use of the Service, we will delete or anonymize all associated data within 90 days of written request. Individual users can request deletion of their personal data at any time.

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you or your child
Correct inaccurate information
Delete your account and associated data
Export your data in a portable format
Opt out of non-essential communications
